Hope

Hope

Hope is a 18-hand Sire Mare heavy horse whom came to us July 2021 and was in such a poor state. She has multiple health related issues included suspected stringhalt, and a cleft palate, she is very lucky to still be alive (most horses with cleft palate do not make adulthood). With all of that, Hope is in such good spirit, and gives so much love. She is such a gentle giant whom enjoys regular walks around the field with our volunteers for her exercise.

Domino (DeeDee)

Domino (DeeDee)

Domino (DD) came to us in 2020 - as a young mum - during the summer heatwave with her foal; Chase. After a rocky start and a few illnesses, Domino picked back up and has recovered well. She is now a loving and gentle pony whom loves a groom from the visiting volunteers.

Chase

Chase

Chase is a yearling (born 18th May 2020) whom arrived shortly after birth with his mother, Domino "DD". Due to the heat of the summer of 2020 both came dehydrated. Chase is now doing really well and has made great friends with Mickey Blue Eyes (another Yearling).

Angel

Angel

Angel is a 12 year old mare who arrived in foal with Dexter Junior having had Shy Baby the previous year. As one of the oldest horses who arrived from Yorkshire, she was very wild and shy and although she has improved enormously and will come for food and to call, she still has issues with trust.

Chandler

Chandler

Pat noticing a report in a national horse magazine related to the removal and disposal of the horses from the Yorkshire Moors.By the time they had arrived, over 50 horses had already been destroyed, Pat and Zoe were determined to save as many as they could. Many horses were recommended to be put to sleep due to malnutrition and infections, the sanctuary was their last hope. Upon leaving, Pat noticed one final horse that was tied up in a small, cadged area. The horse had been badly castrated by the local gypsies with serious infections, it was severely malnourished and trusted no human. This little horse was given 5 days to live by the vets, his name was Chandler.  Chandler is now a very healthy, trusting and loving horse, whom adopts the father figure amongst the other rescue horses. He has often adopted the father role to new foals and rescues at Little Bramley (including Archie whom lost his mum Bella). Chandler’s love is infectious, you will often find volunteers laying down with him in the stables with his head resting on their lap.

Dexter Junior

Dexter Junior

Dexter Junior is the son of Angel and is now 2 years old. He's recently been gelded and has thrived since his arrival from Yorkshire. Unlike some of the other older ponies, his growth hasn't been stunted. Dexter Junior is the son of Angel and is now 2 years old. Archie

Archie

Poor Archie lost his mum Bella just one month after he arrived from Yorkshire. Chandler both mothered and fathered him.

Alfie

Alfie

Alfie came with his mother Eden another Yorkshire lass. He was a foal at foot to eden who was in foal to the beautiful Ruby. Alfie's trust in humans was not made easy by edens years of being feral on the moor .. She obviously taught him to be very wary When she gave birth to Ruby, the bond to humans grew. Very slow process but he is now a confident pony ready to progress.

Biscuit

Biscuit

Biscuit came to us at 6 mths and was in a terrible state and lame.
Another untouched by humans and just taken away from his mum who unfortunately we were not able to take.
He is four now and ready to begin his education.

Arthur

Arthur

Arthur was purchased by Zoe's sister Rosie - hes been with our equine family for 5 years. Kindest horse you'd ever meet.

Belle

Belle

Belle is our newest addition .. Taken from a shed in the back garden of cruel owners. Ridden as a yearling .. But happy and a very sweet pony.

Lakota

Lakota

Lakota a most special little foal who is lucky to be alive - His mother Indie, another of the Yorkshire lasses was watching us as we were leaving - in a terrible state - wild, emaciated lice riddled but we couldn’t leave her. She gave birth to a beautiful colt foal Lakota & died soon after from worm damage, both would have died if we had left her.

Eden

Eden

Another one of our Yorkshire lasses is Eden - she came with foal at foot Alfie and in foal to Ruby Eden was as wild as they come. Worm ridden and very poorly, it has been a slow process but Eden is beginning to trust - Eden is challenging but every now and then the look in her eyes will soften and you just know she is longing to be part of you.

Charlie

Charlie

Charlie is a special character, his elderly owner had died and the husband was not a horsey person. Charlie was not handled but herded like cattle - our biggest challenge with him were trust and handling issues. Charlie is now a much loved pony, he loves to jump and is brilliant at gymkhanas.

Jenny and Candy

Jenny and Candy

Jenny and Candy came to us as their owner had died. The husband was not a horsey person and wanted them to go to a kind home. They came with their 15 month old offspring Charlie and Molly.

Calypso

Calypso

Calypso came to us as a result of his owner unable to afford him any more. She does try to play a role in his welfare and as she had him from 6 months old, we welcome this input. Calypso is what we call a special needs pony. He has issues with his whole persona and definitely needs special attention.

Elvis

Elvis

Elvis came to us as he was bought as a childs riding pony but had only been driven he was going to be sent to the sales. It has taken a lot of time and patience spent on him as he was very wary of people especially men but he is now riding out confidently and been to his first show. Hopefully he has a good future ahead of him now.

Ellie and Daisy

Ellie and Daisy

Ellie and Daisy arrived with Ellie's mum Tinkerbell aka Pest several years ago - unfortunately Tinkerbell passed away at the ripe old age of 30 + Daisy n Ellie are 2 special Shetlands much loved by our visitors.

Katie

Katie

Katie is a super pony. She excels in jumping and has settled down in her new home.

Kevin

Kevin

Kevin was bought from Ashford horse sales for Daisy, Zoe's sister. He has turned out to be a brilliant confidence giver with many children. An asset to us and his owner.

Pineapple

Pineapple

Pineapple arrived with his mum Sweet Pea who was already in foal to our sweet little Bunny. Pineapple and Biscuit became great friends. And after arriving in a very poor state are now handsome boys.

Poppy

Poppy

Poppy was purchased from a riding school by Zoe at the start of her riding experience. Poppy is a lovely horse who helps a lot of beginner and nervous riders to start with their riding. Zoe has had her for 11 yrs now.

Minnie the Minx

Minnie the Minx

Well what can we say about the MINX - born to Shy Baby, a young Yorkshire lass who was a baby herself at 2 years old & such a state when she came it was hard to believe she herself was in foal .. Minnie IS the minx - Brazen & bold and ready to try and take on any thing. Jumping over the electric fence to get to the other field and then back again when the mood takes her! She now towers over her mum as the Queen and what she does goes - HER WAY!

Queen

Queen

Queen was purchased when it was brought to our attention that she was being tied up to a tree for several hours at a time. When we arrived Zoe instantly fell in love with her and the bond they both found is all to visible to this day. Zoe was told her rather large tummy was a result of a previous weaned foal but we had our suspicions and 4 weeks after her arrival she gave birth to a beautiful colt foal we called Quest.

Shy Baby

Shy Baby

Shy Baby is our youngest Yorkshire lass & she is very special to us. She had been corralled from the moor waiting for her fate, all skin and bone and frightened to death. We brought her home and unknown to us she was in foal at her young age and condition. Shy was already stunted in her growth due to no feed & worming condition and was covered in lice. With our care and feeding regime she gave birth to Minnie. A wonderful new chapter.

Quest

Quest

He was born 30th May 2012 - A welcome surprise one morning in the stable suckling from his mum Queen.

Silver

Silver came to us when his owner could not keep him any more. He's brilliant for all our little riders.

Snuggles

Snuggles

Snuggles is Pat's horse and she has had her since she was two, she is now 8 years old. An escape artist from her stable and if she does get out, she goes round the rest and lets them out too. She loves attention and if she doesn't get it, she creates by kicking her door and trying to escape.

Sweetpea

Sweetpea

Sweetpea came to us in foal with Bunny and a foal at foot Pineapple. With a lot of care and love she has turned into a lovely childs pony.

Tigger

Tigger

We bought Tigger when she was 3 years old, she is now 7. Everyone loves Tigger and she's perfect for our young riders to learn on and gain experience.

Ziggy

Ziggy

Ziggy was purchased from a riding school where he was mistreated and over used so much so in the end he did not want to move. He has a gentler life now and when he is ridden, beware - his mind is I will go when I want to and when he does theres no stopping him! But hes a lovely pony and has been a real gentleman here.

Welly

Welly

Welly is a mini Shetland given to us due to the owners financial predicament. He is getting on in years now and is like the mascot for the Little Bramley Farm Horse Sanctuary.
